Stage works from Howard Reich

Some of Howard’s stories have been envisioned for the stage. “Kimiko’s Pearl” is an evening-length ballet produced by Bravo Niagara! Festival of the Arts; Howard wrote the story/scenario, inspired by the family history of Bravo Niagara founders Christine Mori and Alexis Spieldenner. “Before It All Goes Dark” is an opera by composer Jake Heggie and librettist Gene Scheer based on Howard’s 2002 Chicago Tribune series “Mac’s Journey.”

Shown right: Howard stands with dancer Kyra Soo, who plays the title role in “Kimiko’s Pearl.”
